I/O Functional Components - DHS

• Data Hierarchical Steerer (DHS) is responsible for VME data steering and VME interrupt vector storage

• Controls data alignment for VME transfers

• Moves the data between the RBI and the VME bus using address and byte count information provided by the IOC

  • 2 separate data paths in DHS
  • Input data path moves data from VME bus to the RBI interface
  • Output data path moves data from RBI to VME bus

• Provides the 32-bit interrupt acknowledge vector address for the VME interrupts generated by the IOC
