Boreal winter comparison of auroral images from Polar UVI and IMAGE FUV J.F. Spann, G. Germany, W. Maddox, M. Fillingim, G. Parks, and S. Mende Same-scene images made with Polar UVI and IMAGE FUV are compared for the boreal winter of 2000-2001. The results of the comparison are used to determine whether the use of both instruments could lead to a better evaluation of the average precipitation and total energy input than with either one individually. These results are a part of a broader investigation to quantitatively compare conjugate images using both instruments and to correlate observed asymmetries with solar wind and seasonal parameters. _______________ Presentation, Fall A.G.U.
