What will the data look like from the IMAGE satellite instruments?

Each instrument will produce its own data products, but for purposes of quickly inspecting the data for interesting phenomena to study in more detail, a separate 'quick look' archive will be set up at the IMAGE web site.

From theoretical models of what the individual investigators expect their instruments to see, a simulated movie of the images from each instrument ahs been produced in either QuickTime or MPEG formats.

In these simulations, you will see 9 panels with computer-generated animations. These include a space view of the orbit of the satellite and the satellite's location, and views of the earth obtained from the ultraviolet imagers and neutral atom imagers. The locations of the major continents are included on the Earth globe for reference.
